I’m so thrilled to be sharing my interview with designer Jennifer Paganelli from Quilt Market. Jennifer is such an amazing designer who has brought the fabric world many well loved lines – especially those of us who are girly girls! Her fabric is feminine, fun and full of Jennifer’s vibrant personality! We also have a quick peek at Honey Child fabric, it’s gorgeous so go grab some and start sewing.

In our interview Jennifer shares her book “Girl’s World” (published by Chronicle) with our audience. Girl’s World is full of 21 projects to sew for little girls. It’s a gorgeous book full of patterns and inspiration. If you have a little girl in your life, you need this book!

Interview with Carina Gardner – Quilt Market

While on location at Quilt Market in SLC, Daria had the opportunity to catch up with Carina Gardner. Carina is such a talented lady (fabrics, patterns, she does it all!), and she is also local to the Utah area. In this interview Carina shares her adorable patterns for little girls through Riley Blake. Watch for her little boys patterns coming fall 2011 as well. I love the opportunity that Boutique Cafe affords me to meet with creative people on a continual basis. Meeting with Violet Craft at Spring Quilt Market in SLC was such a lovely experience. I have “twittered” with Violet many times, but finally meeting her in person was wonderful as she is such a kind and genuine gal. I definitely recommend getting to know her through Twitter, Facebook and her blog.

Violet shares her beautiful collection of fabrics called Peacock Lane, as well as her children’s clothing patterns and a bag pattern for Indygo Junction!

Gearing up for International Quilt Market This week

I am giddy that this week, in just a few days I’ll have the experience once again of attending Quilt Market in Salt Lake City. Quilt Market is a twice a year phenomenon where fabric designers, pattern makers, sewing enthusiasts and industry gather to showcase what they have been working on. It’s a treat and there is always great energy in the air. Sometimes you feel like you’re bursting with ideas just by being in the room.

We have been covering Quilt Market as Press for our viewers for several years now, and I have a feeling that this year is going to be the best ever! To share in all the creative fun I have a great team coming along with me – Emily our Contributing Editor and owner of Is This Really My Life, and Megan (our past Queen of Chat on Boutique Cafe) and owner of Brassy Apple. Aren’t I a lucky girl to have such a talented and amazing team?!! Just look for the two tall, amazingly stunning gals with cute hair and great shoes and you’ll spot Emily and Megan!! We are gearing up for all the fun and mayhem that Quilt Market provides. If you are attending and see us in the aisles please stop and say hello, we would love to meet you. I also have a few goodies to give away…shhhhhh its kind of a surprise.

Boutique Cafe will be featuring a huge selection of Market interviews, pictures and oodles of giveaways with many of your favourite designers, so be sure to check back here for post-Market coverage. We will even be partying with many bloggers at the Quilt Market Meet-up on Saturday evening. Thursday evening I’m hoping to make it to Quilt Market Sweet Treats and Drinks, a mixer so I’m crossing my fingers that my plane arrives on time for us to attend. It’s going to be a whirlwind of a weekend (feet don’t fail me now), but I can’t wait to get back and share all that we have discovered with you.

I don’t think I can stand to wait until next Monday! A little bird happened to tell me that Season 3 of the DIYDish is kicking off on Monday with special guest and fabric designer Joel Dewberry. I’ve met Joel Dewberry before and he’s a wonderful guy with a great personality Plus he’s so talented! Together Kim, Kris and Joel will work on this adorable bird pincushion, and my guess is that many of you will be working on it too over the coming weeks! Amy Butler “River Camp” Latest Knit Designs

Hello again sunshine!
Spring is my favorite. I love getting back out into nature as the ground awakens. Warm sun bursting through cool woodland trees, soft breezes and patterns of light on the forest floor. These relaxed inspirations led to my open and translucent design ideas for River Camp – my second collection of knit projects for Rowan. Cover ups with natural glamour, delicate like a fern & layered with modern pattern – paired with cozy blankets and accessories for romantic comfort-all made up in my Belle Organic yarns (50% wool / 50% cotton).
