I love pediped shoes. Don’t believe me? Check out this review or this one or even this one. I’m a fan. A really, really big fan. Oh, and now Katie is a fan too. You can read her post to learn more about pediped Originals or my review from a while back on the Flex line.

Today I get to introduce you to pediped’s new Grip ‘n’ Go™ line of children’s shoes. Perfect for active toddlers, these shoes make transitioning from early walking to walking an easier one. Grip ‘n’ Go shoes are made with all the benefits of pediped Originals but with thin, flexible rubber soles. The rounded edges mimic the natural shape of a child’s foot and the heel stability and soft toe box allow toddlers to feel and grip the floor. How cool is that? With my lack of coordination I could use a pair of adult Grip ‘n’ Gos!

Grip ‘n’ Go is ideal for both indoor and outdoor wear. The Fall/Winter line has classic styles like Alyssa, Giselle, Isabella and Jake and also includes new styles like Ellie and Jamie. The Grip ‘n’ G collection is available for children 9 months to 3 years.

Unfortunately Livi refuses to stop growing and was too big to test out a pair of Grip ‘n’ Go shoes, but she is the right size for pediped’s Flex line. And of course we’re always more than willing to review a pair for Daily Dish readers. Livi received the Penny in all it’s golden goodness. Hidden under that sparkly exterior (it’s a no-brainer these shoes will be Olivia’s favorites this winter) you’ll find:

• Memory Foam Technology that provide a cushioned insole that perfectly shapes to the foot and improves fit.

I will be the first to admit pediped shoes come with a higher price tag, but they are one of the few things I’ll invest in partly because they last so long and partly because my children’s feet love these shoes. They last through multiple children and still look great even with a little wear and tear. Plus, how can you NOT buy a pair of these for your little girl this winter:

I love this time of year. Sure, the changing leaves are beautiful and breaking out those cozy sweaters is fun, but one of the best things about fall are the new children’s shoe designs popping up online from favorites like See Kai Run and Eleven Collection.

I have been one of See Kai Run’s biggest fans since I first reviewed them in 2006. Yes, 2006! And I plan to keep being a fan because they keep designing the most fabulous shoes! This season the girls’ collection includes ruffles, boots with buttons and sueded Mary Janes. For the boys you’ll find stripes, rich yummy colors and even a bit of argyle. I love me some argyle!

See Kai Run sent my little Livi their new Jada girl’s shoe, and boy does this baby say fall! It’s yummy dark orange color mixed with mustard yellow flower and purple accent trim has me wishing it came in my size—with a three-inch heel!

You know how I love to snap photos of my kids for these reviews…unfortunately we’re having an Indian summer out here and she’s lived in flip-flops and sandals. But with the recent rain showers I’m hoping she’ll be sporting them soon as she walks through the preschool door. Sadly George has outgrown See Kai Run, but thankfully he has Eleven Collection (sister company to See Kai Run) to grow into!

I love, love, love Eleven Collection children’s shoes. Don’t believe me? Check out this review or this review. The shoes are fun and fashionable and perfect for growing feet. The pairs we’ve reviewed in the past are still going strong. These babies last forever, or at least through two kids so far!

Eleven Collection’s Fall line is chock full of yummy colors and styles. From ruffly red Mary Janes to handsome black suede boots, your child can go back to school (or to holiday parties) in style. Here’s a little tidbit about Eleven from a past review:

Eleven shoes feature soft leather uppers and flexible, durable rubber soles for traction. With a cushioned insole and easy on-and-off Velcro or zipper closures, the shoes are just as child friendly as they are style friendly. Plus they are low maintenance (wish my kids were too) because the high-quality leather makes them naturally water resistant. You only need to use a mild detergent or leather cleaner to and damp rag to keep them looking their Sunday best.

Eleven sent us the Miles, which is a black suede ankle boot with contrast stitching and inside zipper. I chose this style for George because it’s a unisex design, and I know how long Eleven shoes last. I wanted to be able to pass these to Livi once George outgrows them. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to snap any photos because it’s been so warm. Instead of black boots, George has been wearing his Joaquin sandals here there and everywhere. (Also from Eleven Collection and also lasting forever because he wore them last year as well!)

Designed for children ages 3 to 8 years, Eleven Collection shoes are a must for your little one’s shoe bucket (or shelf or basket or whatever you use to hold them all). Though a bit higher priced, these babies last so long and through so many little feet you’ll definitely earn back your original investment. Of course if you’re like me and love every single design, you may buy far too many to do so.—Emily

Have I already told you I’m addicted to fun and fashionable children’s shoes? I’m sure I have; the addiction is almost as strong as the one I have for a great pair of heels or stylin’ pair of jeans. Almost. From pediped to See Kai Run to morgan & milo, I love a pair of well made, good-for-little-feet shoes. That’s why I’m excited to add Bear Feet Shoes to my current addiction.

At first glance you can tell Bear Feet Shoes are fabulously stylish, but what you can’t see is how flexible they are. Touted as “the most flexible kids shoes,” these babies “mold to the shape of the foot instead of forcing the foot to conform.” (Wish I could say the same about a certain pair of heels in my closet…) Why is a shoe’s flexibility important for children? Because children are not heavy enough to fully flex most other soles. Fortunately Bear Feet Shoes are made with a natural crepe rubber sole, and don’t have any thermoforming plastics, which “allows the leather to take the shape of the foot, without constricting the toes and inhibiting the natural foot development.” (I normally wouldn’t quote so much from a site but sometimes the science needs to speak for itself!)

Do you see the super cute T-Snap shoes above? Those little flowers are sold separately and come in a wonderful selection of colors and snaps. How cute is THAT? (No, they don’t come in a women’s size 8—:I already checked.) Their Bearlerina shoes are to die for as well. Seriously.

Bear Feet Shoes sent George a pair of their Woven Toe shoes from their Classic collection. They also threw in Crystal Posie Clips and Flower Power Cuff from the Bear Necessities collection for little Livi. Of course what makes the Woven Toe shoes in gray SO awesome (and most all the other colors in this style) is they are awesomely unisex, a great thing when it comes to hand-me-downs among family members!

Here are George and Livi sporting their new Bear Feet Shoes gear. (The cuff was too big for Livi so she used her right to choose to choose not to wear it no matter how much Mom bribed her! But she loved the hair clips!)

I know, it’s hard to see the shoes because my kids are so dang adorable, but if you look closely you can see how super cool those Woven Toe Bear Feet Shoes are! And they really are some of the most flexible shoes I’ve ever seen. And Livi’s hair clips? I may have to borrow those—at least I know they’ll fit!

When I heard Kinderbliss was a new online shopping boutique by Angela Edgeworth, the same woman who founded pediped Footwear, I knew it would be a fabulous site. I have reviewed pediped a handful of times on Boutique Cafe’s Daily Dish and I am a HUGE fan. I couldn’t wait to dive into Kinderbliss and see what all the buzz was about!

To kick start my experience, Kinderbliss sent George a pair of pediped’s Jake shoes in yummy chocolate brown. These are now our go-to shoes for church on Sunday and any other time his grungy favorite tennis shoes won’t pass the dress code. Like all pediped shoes, the fit is comfortable, which is super important when you have a son who is picky about socks and shoes (and tags and long sleeves and the list goes on). George’s Jakes are super good-looking—I wish I had a photo but we’re lucky to make it to church only 10 minutes late let alone have time to snap a few pics!

pediped shoes aren’t the only stylin’ things you’ll find on Kinderbliss. The boutique is full of princess-worthy dresses (and yes, even a tiara!), golf-course-ready duds and everything in between. Here’s a note from Angela:

I pretty much want to buy everything on the site whether or not it comes in my little ones’ sizes; unfortunately the prices are a little bit high for me. But for a special occasion I’d certainly take my time browsing Kinderbliss. It’s a given I’d find the perfect outfit, accessories and all!—Emily

It wasn’t too long ago I reviewed ScooterBees for the first time on Boutique Cafe’s Daily Dish. I am still just as in love with their foot-friendly design (i.e., chunky feet, small feet, long toes included) and unique storytelling powers as I was when I first laid eyes on them—and Livi laid feet in them—in July. Unfortunately her feet were just about bursting at the seams of her pink Growing Bird ScooterBees, so those will be passed down to a little friend of hers…and we will have to do the same with the latest pair. Trust me, I’m crying silent tears as I write this review.

ScooterBees just launched it’s new 2010 collection, which features a line of supple leather shoes handmade in Peru. The company sent us the Bloom story (“a flower story from bud to bloom”) in a beautiful gray and you can believe I tried to make them fit Livi’s not-so-size-6.5 feet. The leather is super soft and dyed using vegetables and fruits grown at the tannery, so each color reflects the crop of the season. How cool is that? And the company doesn’t use the chemicals traditionally used in tanning leather so you can be sure each component of ScooterBees is made from sustainable and safe materials. As with their 2009 line, the company is all about being eco-friendly. The new collection features a midsole made from recycled carton and lined with recycled fleece fibers and an outsole made using natural and recycled rubber (PVC and phthalate free).

Here’s a really great little video I found on their site that shows how the ScooterBees StoryTelling Shoe works. (It would’ve taken me hours to try and put something like this together for you, and I was too busy trying to get Livi’s feet in those dang cute Bloom shoes!)

Do any of the shoes in your little one’s closet tell a story? I’m not talking the “I was worn while jumping in mud puddles” or “I’m her favorite pair of sparkly princess shoes.” I’m talking endangered animals or dinosaurs or egg in a nest to tweeting bird in just two flaps. If you want a unique gift this holiday that is as good for your child’s feet as it is for the environment then choose a story from either the bamboo or leather collections offered by ScooterBees.

So Livi’s feet never did fit into her ScooterBees shoes from the new 2010 collection. Can you tell I’m seriously sad about it? Fortunately she does have a BFF (yes, even at her young age) who is slightly smaller in stature and will be able to give these shoes a good test run. Guess I’ll have to settle for a review by proxy. Fortunately I’m not talking about the stay-put bootie you get after all that holiday eating—I’d stay far away from a company offering that! Nope, I’m talking about what is sure to become you and your child’s cold-weather friend this holiday season: the Stonz Wear bootie. I could think of no better intro than this cute video on Stonz Wear’s site:

Need I say more? Okay, yeah, I do since this is the Daily Dish and it is about our take on the latest and greatest products for parents and kids alike. Stonz Wear sent me a pair of their Daisy Brown booties for Livi and until recently it wasn’t cold enough to sport them around town…and then when it was cold enough we hibernated inside. That combined with them being a bit too large and my not yet purchasing the fabulous Sherpa-fleece linerz for Stonz means Livi hasn’t actually worn these babies yet. But I can tell you they are within easy access so once I get those Sherpa-lined Linerz (they’ll be on their way today!), these will be our go-to shoes here in frigid Utah. And here’s why:

• They are the cutest dang boots I’ve ever seen!


• Wind and water-resistant thanks to a nylon upper.


• Soft, comfortable fleece lining provides warmth.


• Easy on, easy off (need I say more?).


• Toggles at calf and ankle make sure these booties stay on!


• Skid-resistant soft soles.


• Machine wash and dry, inside out on delicate cycle. (Bet your current boots can’t do this!)


• Made in Canada by a mom who knows a thing or two about cold, wet weather.

Though they do come with a fleece lining I am definitely adding a pair of Linerz to the boots. Stonz Linerz fit snugly inside and add even more warmth to the bootie and I love that the top of the Linerz can either fold over the top or you can leave them up for extra warmth. That’s a lot of warmth…you feelin’ warm yet? (Note: The Linerz will make the boots fit a titch smaller so size accordingly.)

Stonz Wear booties are now available for children up to four years of age—how cool is that? Though at about $45 they are slightly pricier than a snow boot from Target they are definitely worth it. Think of how much time you’ll save getting these booties on and off (we’ve already wasted too much time in our house trying to cram feet into snow boots) and knowing exactly where they are at all times (on their feet, of course!). Stonz Wear also has the most adorable collection of reversible and pointy Hatz and Mittz. I’m tempted to get the matching Daisy Brown Mittz to go with Livi’s new Booties. What a fashion statement that will make at the next sledding trip!—Emily

I love shoes. No, wait. I. LOVE. SHOES. Heels, ballet flats, tennis shoes, flip-flops, you name it and I have a pair or two or three. And when the cold weather hits and snow starts to fall (it seems to skip right over rain here in Utah) I’m a big fan of any shoe that keeps my often chilly toes super toasty.

Last year I reviewed Bearpaw shoes and am already a fan of Uggs, but this year there’s a new fave in my closet and I have a feeling it will be worn a lot more than the others because it combines comfort, warmth and some serious style. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on—and toes in—a pair of Sorel boots so the company sent me the Shila from their newest line. (Oh, the sacrifices I make for our readers…) Though I think the Shila is one of their cutest styles I have to admit I can count at least five others that come close. I’m thinking it’s the combination of 45+ years of experience and some pretty talented product designers that make their line so irresistible!

So the Shila arrived, tie-up laces, wedge heel and all. My first thought was something like, “Dang! These boots are even cuter in person!” It was then followed by, “How did I not notice ‘SOREL’ written along the outside of the heel?” At first that was a bit off-putting, but that’s probably because I don’t love brand names printed noticeably on clothing. I think I would’ve preferred it to be the exact same color as the background (it is in the black) just so it blended in a bit more, but as it was the boot had enough chic style to compensate for this one little “flaw.”

Of course being cold-weather boots meant I had to wait for a nice wintry day to test them out, and fortunately for this review—but unfortunately for me because I hate snow—we actually had some snow fall yesterday, enough to warrant a thorough test drive. I pulled on Sorel’s Shila boots and opted for some straight-leg jeans so I could show off the super cute laces. I wore those shoes from about noon until about 6pm, even keeping them on while in the house, they were THAT comfortable. I swear the sole of the shoe had some serious cushioning but I had added spring in my step, something I’ve lost these past few crazy weeks. Though I love my Uggs and Bearpaws they don’t have near the comfort when it comes to the insole. My feet were toasty and looked fabulous, if I do say so myself. I did notice the SOREL printed on the boot wasn’t nearly as noticeable once the boots were on my feet, and no, that’s not just because they were harder to see. It really blended in well to the overall look, so I guess first impressions can be deceiving sometimes! (Gotta love my expression; it’s like I’m trying to pretend I really and truly do love snow. A for effort!)

Sorel has a wonderful line of boots for men and children as well so you can make sure everyone’s tootsies are warm this winter. If you happen to live someplace like Phoenix, I say buy a pair and then come up and visit me just so you can wear them! I already have my eyes on the Hoonah and Maribel in black…merry Christmas to me!—Emily

Before I know it Livi will be borrowing those heels, but until then she can strut around town in her Foxpaws. They are a little big for her now so we haven’t had any photo opps yet, but believe me, when she finally fits into them we’ll be snapping pics left and right!

What I love about Foxpaws Shoes is each one is truly one of a kind because of the authentic and unique real leather hides used in their construction. And though the website gives you a good idea as to the superior craftsmanship, it is best appreciated up close and personal.
