On the Radar

April 12th, 2011

There is so much a’buzz in the blogging world, and some pretty pretty things that I must share.

necklaceweb1. Elizabeth Kartchner (aka Dear Lizzy) is launching a NEW site this Thursday called “Something Splendid” – isn’t that delicious? I have the launch marked on my calendar because everything she does is ultra beautiful and drool worthy. Just check out this little teaser video created by her husband Collin and you’ll be rushing to your computer Thursday to check out the new site with me:

2. Megan (aka Brassy Apple): we all have seen the easy and beautiful DIY method of making those adorable rosettes for your hair, jewelry and more. Brassy Meg cranks it up a notch with this awesome tutorial on making a Burlap Rosette Bracelet. It’s fun and fabulous just like her >>BR1

Have YOU spotted something Fabulous we need to spotlight? Email us the link (daria@boutiquecafe.com – subject: Fab Tip) and if we use your suggestion we will credit you with a link back to your blog or website. It’s a fun little way to share the best content on the web with our BC readers, and its a fun little boost of traffic for you. XO - Daria

I am…What are you today?

February 7th, 2011

I am honoured to have submitted the launch photo for Megan’s new blog adventure, we all need to pack our virtual bags and enjoy this together. Megan (aka Brassy Meg) kicks off her new blog today entitled “I am…more than just”.

Screen shot 2011-02-07 at 9.47.25 AM

Of her new blog project Megan says:
“This blog is about sharing snapshots from women all around the world. We are more than just all the labels, advertising, and categories we are put in or put ourselves in.

We are more than just…........

We all have different forms of beauty, different talents, traits that make us who we are and ideas that drive us and mold our character. We all have a story to tell.

So what can you capture through the lens of your camera to share? Often we as women and mothers are behind the camera capturing life without us in that moment. I want you to share those moments and occasionally step in front of it as well. We capture so many beautiful moments, images, stories and emotions through a single photo. We can learn so much from each other.

This blog will have a monthly theme that all the photos will be based on – like a tiny window into your life wherever you are on the globe. My hope is that we will see how similar we may be, to connect with others, to share a bit of our stories through a picture and a few simple words. To be intrigued about our differences. To laugh, cry, smile…..to be seen.

We are more that just….........women, mothers, teachers, stay at home moms, working moms, single, divorced, married, tall, short, blonde, brunette….......”I AM” will let you declare through a photo bits of yourself and your daily life to share with other women.”

*Please join me in congratulating one of the most talented and kindhearted women I know on a worthwhile and amazing project. I can’t wait to see my readers participate by sending in your own pictures, and sharing the many parts of you with the world. XO - Daria

Fabric Wall Art Video Tutorial with Megan: Brassy Apple

August 11th, 2010

blogmay10I was squealing today watching my friend Megan aka “Brassy Meg or Ms. Apple” on Studio 5 sharing her Fabric Wall Art tutorial. (isn’t she just gorgeous and adorable?! I love her!) This project is ideal for those of us who adore fabric, and want to have a customized look for our homes but perhaps need something less permanent than paint or wall paper.

Megan is changing the way we decorate our homes forever!
