CPSIA Insults Mommy Bloggers – now Mom Dot has her say

January 16th, 2009

Trisha from Mom Dot explains just how messed up the CPSIA legislation really is, and how Julie Vallese (the CPSC’s spokesperson) insulting the momprenuers and mommy bloggers might not be the best idea.

On a personal note: Thanks for sharing the fab mommy made products that you own Trisha. Especially the gorgeous picture you won on Boutique Cafe. We can’t believe that these beautiful products may be no more without some serious re-writing of this legislation.

Love the Vlog! You hit it out of the park on this one. Everything you said was right on the money. This stupid legislation is a joke and needs to be fixed stat. Our economy is horrible as it is right now, imagine what the unemployment rate is going to look like after Feb. 10th!!

Loved that, Trisha! What a great video that so many need to see! As one of these “tainted” mom businesses, I say BRAVO! to you for getting the word out. Back to scanning my items for lead:(

Excellent Vlog and observations, I’m a single Parent Father (Yes one of those 1 in 100000 lol) it has taken me over four years to establish a creative business and work around my
own Children, now specialising in Fashion items for kids and teens aged 9 to 16. This kind of blanket lesgislation could so damage many small operators, more importantly it will affect
those who care enough to make beautiful individual things and use their own particular skills and prior knowledge to do so.

I can see how this has come about, as we in the West have allowed an influx of cheap imports over the past few decades and with that will ultimately will come some rather suspect, dangerous childrens products, combine that with a ‘Let’s Sue For All We Can Get’ culture and the two gets Governments and Big Industry/Insurers running scared.

This, however, is not the answer, and as you so wisely state, not at a time when the economy is doing so bad and mass unemployment is a key issue, we in the U.K are
experiencing much the same. I hope this legislation is quickly adjusted and common
sense is used in revising it.
