Silikids makes silicone stylish & fun
April 7th, 2008
As we learn more about the possible dangers of plastics (and more importantly for this review, plastic bottles) many parents are turning to the ol’ school glass bottle for their babies. But glass bottles can be unwieldy for tiny hands, so what’s a parent to do? Slap on a Siliskin of course!
Silikids has designed Siliskins, a translucent silicone sleeve that slip over a glass bottle so baby can hold on to a glass bottle. Microwave safe, dishwasher safe and hypoallergenic Siliskins help avoid slippage and breakage. Because they’re translucent you can see measurements and liquid in the bottle and they come in both 4- and 8-ounce sizes and a variety of colors. And you’ve got the benefits of silicone, which means it is hygienic and hypoallergenic (no open pores to harbor bacteria); easy to use and to clean (microwave and freezer safe; dishwasher and washer & dryer friendly); made from food grade silicone; does not fade or scratch; and extreme temperature resistant.
We tested our Siliskin-covered glass bottle just the other day. Though it was a bit heavier to hold than our typical plastic bottles, our little one eventually got the hang of it (plus I didn’t mind the opportunity to hold the bottle for a few minutes–she’s growing up so quickly!). I was a little worried the Siliskin would be hard to slip on and off because of its snug fit, but it was super easy. Just roll the top over and slide off!
Silikids also offers Silibibs (”a welcome change from stained cloth or grubby plastic”) and Silipads (”designed to keep your little one’s knees feeling and looking good”). Go safe and stylish with silicone products by Silikids! –Emily
