Give your little one wings!
March 26th, 2007
Baby’s first steps are always a time of excitement for both parent and child, and yet that excitement is often accompanied by a feeling of anxiety, or is that just me? I don’t worry about the little falls on the soft carpet but I do worry about the tumbles into the barstools or towards the tile floor. I’ve recently found a product that will not only help with the anxiety but also make the learning-to-walk process easier and more natural for my little one.
Walking Wings, a product designed by two moms (yay!), helps your little one experience fewer falls and balance more naturally since she has her two hands free. And because she’s picking up the whole walking thing more quickly, she will also gain confidence and independence (not that we’re ready for them to be too independent just yet). And guess what? Walking Wings has a couple fantastic side effects for mom and dad: no more back pain from bending over to hold your little one’s hands and no tugging and twisting on her arms if she falls.
Designers, medical experts, and testing laboratories have worked together to make sure Walking Wings “meet the highest functionality, quality, and style.” Walking Wings are made from 100% cotton, machine washable, and come in both pink and black. Believe it or not, you can use Walking Wings from as early as 6 months! I know a lot of babies would love to “walk” and explore at this age, and Walking Wings would be a great way to help them do just that–and no ibuprofen for mom’s lower back pain”¦even better!
I’d like to mention one other unique and cool product. I wasn’t personally able to review it but I love the concept. The product is called Milkscreen and was also designed by two moms (I’m detecting a pretty awesome theme here). Milkscreen’s purpose is to screen for alcohol in breastmilk. For many reasons, including impaired let-down and milk production, sleep problems for baby, and possible effect on baby’s motor skills, making sure mom’s milk is alcohol free shouldn’t be a new idea, but thank heavens a couple moms realized how important it is. Easy-to-read with fast and accurate results, Milkscreen is a must-have product for breastfeeding moms. –Emily
