Can’t take my eyes off of him
March 1st, 2007
And by “him” I mean our little George. For the past couple weeks we’ve been able to review the Baby’s Quiet Sounds Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor from Summer Infant and we literally can’t take our eyes off our little one.
This little handheld monitor may not be a must-have for those who are happy simply to listen to baby sleeping or waking, but once you actually own one you’ll wonder how you ever survived without it. The small, lightweight monitor with its color screen and
night vision allows you to see your little one not only in daylight but in his darkened room as well. And with a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 10 hours (almost long enough for me) you can take that little monitor all around the house with you. I also love that it has a power saver feature so the screen will time out after 3 minutes. I guess I don’t have to be watching him ALL the time, though it’s tempting!
Funny thing is, I’m actually not one of those moms who, after baby’s a few weeks old, is a frequent checker. I would turn my audio monitor almost all the way down so I wasn’t awakened by every little movement and sound. But when you have the capability of watching your little one while he sleeps or when he’s awake and sits there flipping through his board books while talking to himself, you get addicted pretty quickly. The first night we had the new monitor set up, my husband and I laid in bed and oohed and aahed over our little George for much longer than I’d like to admit.
If you’re looking for peace of mind while your little one sleeps, the Summer Infant Baby’s Quiet Sounds Day and Night Monitor is definitely worth the investment. If you’re looking for a little family entertainment instead, it’s still worth the investment! –Emily
