You’ll be the belle of the ball

February 27th, 2007

Belle Baby CarrierWell, maybe not the ball, but you will be the belle of the next playgroup or family outing if you’re sporting the new Belle Baby Carrier.

The first thing that struck me about the Belle Baby Carrier was not only the stylish and fun patterns (Cheetah, anyone?) but rather how soft and comfortable it looked. This baby carrier is not bulky and is so much easier to fold up and transport than other baby carriers I’ve tried. But don’t let the soft look and feel of the Belle Baby Carrier fool you. This carrier is made here in the U.S. and uses the same hardware and webbing that you’ll find on high-end backpacks. The fabrics, though soft and luxurious, are strong and easy to wash. But that’s not the best part.

Belle Baby CarrierWhat I really love about this carrier is the unique waist belt, which transfers baby’s weight to your hips and away from your back. When I used one of the other, more popular baby carriers, it held baby well but I won’t say it was comfortable for long periods of time. Even when wearing it correctly I could feel the weight in my upper back. With the Belle Baby Carrier, your baby is nestled directly against you in a restful, stable, and natural hip position. And natural is what we should be all about.

But don’t take my word for it. The reviews are in and the Belle Baby Carrier is quickly becoming a must-have for moms and dads alike. I’m not the only one finding it “without a doubt, the most comfortable and versatile of all baby carriers on the market today.” ““Emily

* Belle Baby Carriers is offering 15% off your purchase. Simply enter code “boutiquecafe” at checkout and give your back the rest it deserves.

Organize your home-away-from-home

February 26th, 2007

MountainsmithFor a lot of us moms and/or entrepreneurs, our second home is not a beach-side condo but rather a car with enough seating for the family and an extra seat for the car office. It’s not easy to keep this second home organized, but I’ve found something that will definitely help.

The Modular Hauler 3 System Deluxe from Mountainsmith is a great way to bring some calm to the chaos in your car. This little system is not only great for road trips but also for everyday use. Think about how easy it will be to keep sports gear separate from dance attire and emergency needs (extra snacks, wet wipes, etc.) separate from clothes due at the dry cleaners. The options are endless!

The Hauler sports a quilted exterior with a sturdy zippered lid, and the waterproof rubber bottom protects against the elements. With reinforced, padded haul handles and D-ring attachment points for shoulder straps, its larger size doesn’t compromise its portability.. You’ve even got tie down loops to keep the Hauler secure in your vehicle.

I need to talk about Britney today…

February 23rd, 2007

I must say that I feel really sorry for Britney Spears right now. I truly hope that she can successfully make it through rehab and get clean. I don’t want to hash out the things that have been going on with the celeb of late, but as a mother I hope that the pain she’s in will cease and that she will be able to be a mommy to her boys.

Whether you’re a fan or not, anyone that has a heart has got to feel horrible about what she is going through. I really wish her luck and hope she can start fresh. I just wanted to start this kind of “support” thread and maybe some of those positive vibes will make a difference. I think it’s so important to support the moms around us. Those little boys need a healthy mommy.

If you want to post your positive vibes in our friendly forum please feel welcome.

Keep your baby comfy & cozy

February 22nd, 2007

HoohobbersWe’ve only reviewed one other Moses basket on the Daily Dish, and I’m excited to finally review another one. For those of us with little bedroom space (barely enough room for a bassinet), a Moses basket is a great option for those first few weeks baby is home.

Hoohobbers, the same company that helped you find chairs that were “just right,” brings you a Moses basket that is more than just right”¦it’s award winning. But before I get to the accolades, here are just a few reasons why I love this basket.

Right off I noticed how flexible yet sturdy the basket and handles were. If it’s flexible, it’s less like to split like other baskets. The duvet design lets you remove the bumper inserts before washing so they can retain their original shape. Also, the basket includes a double-sided blanket made with 100% cotton designer fabric backed in soft 100% cotton flannel (also machine washable). Plus””and quite possibly the best reason””you’ve got over 30 fabric design options to choose from. Yes, I said 30!

Pedoodle your way on over here cutie…

February 22nd, 2007

Pedoodles If babies were born with shoes, their feet would look just like Pedoodles. My love for shoes has grown by leaps and bounds with this fresh footed review. I had the opportunity to test out and review several stages of footwear in the in Pedoodles lineup, and what a treat for the sole. Ok enough puns, here’s the dish.

Pedoodles First Feet Collection is a line of soft leather shoes for babies aged 0-24months. Bright colors and endearing characters adorn the top, while an elastic ankle keeps shoe snug and comfy. The great thing about Pedoodles are the soles of these shoes, Exclusive PedFlexâ„¢ flat rubber soles provide durability and traction outdoors which is unique to the Pedoodles brand. Pedoodles

Our boys also were excited to try the Next Steps shoes in their funky Orange Runner design, these were a huge hit! But the cream of the crop for my 4 year old were the Outback Gecko Boots in genuine leather with great traction and brimming with fun four year old styling. I don’t know if we’ll ever get the boots off of his feet, he loves them that much.Pedoodles

Pedoodles has so many options, sizes and cool designs you’re sure to need many a pair. I predict many children developing a life long love of shoes from their beginnings with Pedoodles. So why don’t you Pedoodle your way on over to their website and check them out cutie… - Daria

Fancy footwear

February 20th, 2007

OobeesLooking for something fun and comfy for your feet? Then you’ve got to try Oobees footwear, a trend that’s taking Utah by storm.

Oobees footwear comes in sizes both for grown-up and not-so-grown-up ladies. The styles are made from super soft faux fur and offer “ultra cushy” foam insoles that mold to your feet. Each pair also has a durable 1½-inch chunky sole. What does a durable, chunky sole mean? It means you can do more than just check the mail in these puppies. Feel free to wear them during early-morning carpool, to the grocery store, and even around the town.

OobeesI was able to review Oobees footwear in the G.I. Jordynn Camo/Pink style. I found theme a quick and easy option and stylish to boot. But I haven’t had much of a chance to really wear them more than a couple times, as they somehow keep ending up on my nine-year-old’s feet!

Oobees also offers some great faux fur cosmetic bags and overnight bags, along with hobo bags, pillows, blankets, and cool weathered t-shirts. The Oobees options are endless! –Emily

* Oobees is offering 10% off your order. Simply enter code BC0710 at checkout. Offer expires April 21, 2007.

Slam dunk!

February 19th, 2007

Trader Joe'sSo I needed to come up with a last-minute review for today, and the first thing that came to mind–or mouth, rather–were these cookies from Trader Joe’s called Dunkers. Now, I love Trader Joe’s but can only sneak a visit in when we head out to California to visit the parents. Utah has yet to be lucky enough to have its own Trader Joe’s. For those who live near one, you know exactly what I mean.

Trader Joe’s is a culinary adventure. It is quite possibly one of my favorite food-related stores. The TJ website says it best: “…Our buyers are like culinary ambassadors. They travel the world - from exotic locales to local farms and dairies - looking for interesting, great-tasting foods and beverages at terrific everyday values. They do all the heavy lifting for you.” It’s been a while since I last visited a Trader Joe’s, so I can’t list all the yummy things you’ll find in the aisles, but I do remember loving their mushroom jack bread loaf, their dark chocolate covered raisins, the selection of brown rice, and even the Trader Joe’s hand soap. But I digress. Read the rest of this entry »

A chair that is just right!

February 18th, 2007

When it comes to chairs, kids often have the same problem Goldilocks had””they’re either too big, too soft, and rarely just right. Well, Goldilocks and your kids need look no further than Hoohobbers for a variety of “just right” sitting options.

HoohobbersI was able to check out three products from Hoohobbers extensive line of great gear. The first was their director chair, which doubles as a booster seat. This chair is perfect for little bums, which often come with little legs. It’s only 10 inches high so little feet can touch the ground rather than lose circulation on a typical grown-up’s chair. This little seat easily folds up so kids can carry it everywhere all by themselves. It’s also water resistant and comes with a strap so you can attach it to a dining chair for use as a booster seat. George absolutely loved this little chair!

HoohobbersThe second product George reviewed was the rocking chair. The make is similar to that of the director’s chair with its polypropylene frame and 100% water resistant fabric, but this little rocker has some other great features. There are no pointed rocker ends for stubbing little toes, and the rockers are 3 incehs wider than the seat so you’ve got sideways stability (i.e. less chance your little one will tip sideways). And the rocker folds pretty darn compactly as well!

Fashion Show - Flowers for Lili

February 16th, 2007

When I first saw the designs of Hope from Flowers for Lili my jaw dropped. She incorporates the beauty of great fabrics with an eye for exquisite detailing, and has mastered the art of chic and shabby. We know you’ll enjoy the beautiful creations of Flowers for Lili this week.

We asked Hope to share her inspirations with us:
“Although my own Mother sewed for me as a little girl, I never had any interest to learn until my own daughter was born! We already had two wild boys, and then were (surprisingly!) blessed with a little girl. After shopping and dressing her, I just was never satisfied with anything I found and knew right away that I wanted to learn to sew and dress her to my hearts desire! So I got my first machine and sat for hours and days just learning and practicing by picking apart her store bought clothes!LOL I absolutely love all things frilly and with a ton of ruffles! I am definantly drawn to the girly girl sets, and Annalisa absolutely loves to dress up and primp and, of course, get lots of attention, so we have a wonderful time together from start to finish. Obviously, she is my inspiration and why I started, but selling on ebay and all of the wonderful friendships I have made, have become an important part as well. I look forward each day to chatting with my sisters of Gallerybay and drawing inspiration from them. As a stay-at-home mom to 3 kids who keep my days busy at school and each night with ballgames year-round, creating and selling on ebay is something that I can do at home and also always be there anytime the kids need me. So a special thank-you to all of my wonderful repeat customers, I am so honored that you continue to buy from me!:)

Thank You so much Daria for allowing me this opportunity to share-we LOVE Boutique Cafe!”

You can learn more about Flowers for Lili and their eBay Me page. To shop Flowers for Lili auctions and listings you can find them on eBay and soon on Blossom Street in Villa Fresca, debuting their shop on Feb 22nd with Natalie (themainebaby). Now Scoot!

February 16th, 2007

Svan Scooter All of our readers today are going to want to read this and leave a great comment…we’re drawing for a Svan Scooter this week!!

Sweet Wheels are yours with this incredible Svan Scooter. Svan combines the best of Scandinavian design and simplicity to create amazing products for children that are fun for them, and stylish for parents. My boys have never been the same since our new Svan Scooter entered our lives, it’s lightweight and comes “child-ready” so they can jump on and go. We’ve made our scooter an inside toy, which is perfect for our long long winters up here in the cold climate. The kids can scoot around the kitchen on the Svan Scooter and have spent hours chasing each other and laughing. Sturdy birch wood is bent and molded to this interesting shape making the beauty be your child’s imagination. “Children push the Svan Scooter along with their feet helping them develop a sense of balance, physical fitness, and coordination while the abstract shape allows them to use their imaginations. “Svan Scooter

Svan Scooters arrive with a pouch to keep it clean for storage. They are intended for children 18 months and up, and my three youngest haven’t stopped scooting yet. I admit my husband has had his eye on these sweet wheels and wishes he could get a larger version! Once you purchase one Svan product, be warned they’re addictive and you’ll want them all. Now Scoot! - Daria

**GIVEAWAY - Our friends at Scandinavian Child are offering an incredible giveaway this week - a Svan Scooter! To enter for our drawing please leave a comment with valid email address. We will contact our winning poster within the next week to award your prize.

Get Pampered at In Style Moms

February 15th, 2007

In Style Moms I go weak in the knees for great products to pamper moms, namely me. I must confess my addiction to cute tees, bath products and anything girly. Well happily I have found a new vice at In Style Moms a place where I plan on spending a little time in retail therapy.

In Style Moms is a beautifully designed shopping experience. The webstore is lovely to shop through and easy to get “lost” in (and that’s in a good way). In Style Moms is a one stop shopping experience that offers products for mommy’s, babies, children and yes even a few things for dad. What I love about the site is the way it’s been put together, and the collection of products available. I was impressed that so many of the products I love or intend to get to know are housed in their store. One of the fun products that I was eager to try is the Perfectly Pumpkin Pie Body Sugar by Margarita Bloom and let me tell you, it smells just as scrumptious as pumpkin pie. It’s hard not to pick up a spoon and dive in, it just smells so good. The scrub is enriched with sunflower oil and Vitamin E. It was the perfect treat for my legs and made them so silky smooth. For $8.50 per jar it was a definite treat for this mommy. In Style Moms

In Style MomsBut the fun didn’t stop there, I was sent the Hottie Mommy tee by Little Showoffs in hot pink. I’m in love with this tee shirt and the reaction when I wear it out of the house. I’ve had several people ask where I got it, and a few even said they thought it was cool that I was so proud of being a mom! The tees are great quality and the sayings available are must haves.

In Style Moms encourages you on their site to live life in style, and then gives you the tools to do it! - Daria

**Promo Code - In Style Moms is offering our Daily Dish readers a 10% discount for their store. Use promo code

TOTEaTOT on your vacation

February 12th, 2007

TOTEaTOT Last August we featured a great article on Boutique Cafe by Erin Gilday (of SPBoutique) about Traveling with an infant/toddler. Since that article, I have looked around for products that would help parents while traveling, and was unimpressed with my search until I discovered the TOTEaTOT website.

TOTEaTOT works hard to make traveling a little bit easier for parents. The system is simple, the idea is sweet. Once you try it, you might not even dread the airport terminal and instead focus on your fun family getaway. TOTEaTOT is a genius backpack like contraption. When in use you’ll be able to tote your baby in their infant car seat, your rolling luggage and all of baby’s necessities in one package. It allows you to transport your child, car seat, bottles, diapers and everything in one hand. This smart product hugs the outside of your rolling luggage and then straps your infant car seat to the back of it. TOTEaTOT even has pockets and pouches to give you tons of storage options. The best part is that you’ll be able to roll your suitcase and baby safely and easily through the airport. Another bonus to this is that you can fly your baby in the safety and comfort of their own carseat (and it’s not a big deal to heave it around the airplane).TOTEaTOT

The TOTEaTOT is easy to install, in fact it’s a snap (two to be exact) and you’re rolling. I like the versatility of this travel product, you can convert it to be a backpack for you when baby is not with you, what a bonus to have a whole new use for the same great item. The TOTEaTOT is durable and easy to wipe clean, which is a must for this Mommy. I also appreciate the pricepoint of $29.95, which I felt is well worth it for the versatility and freedom it gives you. Get ready for a fun and stress free vacation this summer. - Daria

** GIVEAWAY - Our Friends at TOTEaTOT are offering two of their products for our Daily Dish readers. All you need to do is post a comment under this review for a chance to win one of these great prizes. We’ll draw two winners within the week and you’ll be contacted via email (please include a valid email address).

Bling for your Sweetheart

February 12th, 2007

Alli's Originals With Valentine’s Day sneeking up on us this week I thought the men in our lives would appreciate a hot tip (say it with me) - “A Little BLING, is just the Thing!”

Alli’s Originals specializes in made to order hand stamped, personalized sterling silver jewellery. Alli uses only the finest quality materials in her pieces, including: Sterling silver, Swarovski crystals, Fresh Water Pearls and Semi-precious stones. I was sent Alli’s Mini Tags necklace from her Princess Collection. You’ll have the option of choosing a regular silver chain or a ball chain, both are 18″ and sterling silver. The Mini Tags on my new necklace spell out the word LOVE but you have the option of customizing it to your liking with words such as HOPE, WISH and DREAM. The final touch is a little BLING, a sweet pink Swarovski crystal heart.

Alli’s Originals offer so many gorgeous jewelry options. I love the hand stamped tags on so many of the precious pieces she designs. And her Infinity Earrings are next on my list of a must-have from her website. What I love about Alli’s Originals is that she has a nice blend of the funky, with the feminine. Her jewelry is really quite extraordinary and would make your Valentine’s heart soar, but don’t forget Mother’s Day, her Birthday, and even those special “just because” moments. Those are the one’s that will win her heart forever. - Daria
