Bohemian BabyYou’d think it would be impossible to find a baby food that adults would actually enjoy, but believe it or not, I found it. Bohemian Baby makes fresh, organic baby food that I found myself fighting over with my son (especially the Spicy Bean Burger Bits). Get your taste of the review here. –Emily

Lesser Evil When it comes to snacking, I’m much more in favor of something sweet rather than salty, so when I discovered Lesser Evil I knew my days of unhealthy snacking (brownies, Oreos, M&M’s) were over. With flavors such as KettleCorn, Black&White, SinNamon, Peanut Butter & Choco, and MaplePecan you too can prevent your own “Snackcidents.” Read more about Lesser Evil here. –Emily

HintWith all that snacking going on Emily will need something to wash that down with. :) One of my fave products that I tested and tried over the last year was Hint naturally flavored water. Hint has created a product that is 100% pure delicious water with natural essence that adds just a “hint” of flavor. The flavors I tried were truly delicious, but be sure to chill before drinking as it adds to the pristine taste. Read my full review here. – Daria

Fit by Sara

December 16th, 2006

Fit by SaraWith the hurried pace of the Holiday season upon us it was only fitting that our Daily Dish for today will help you rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. Fit by Sara is a full line of Yoga DVD’s to help you get your body into shape and your inner you feeling like a million bucks.

I was sent the Prenatal Yoga tapes (I’m not expecting Mom, don’t get too excited) and enjoyed my very first introduction into yoga with her First Trimester DVD. This would be an excellent gift, I loved Sara’s peaceful and calm voice as well as the music they have in the background. I was a bit surprised at how inflexible I was, and how wobbly at first. I know that with a little practice I can greatly improve at that.

Fit by Sara is the only Yoga series tailored to each trimester. They enable you to “GET FIT”¦ FEEL GREAT”¦CREATE A STRONG BODY FOR THE BIRTH OF YOUR BABY” and what could be better than laying that foundation for losing your pregnancy pounds? On Sara’s website you will also find DVD’s on Post Natal and even Stroller workouts. Sara Holliday, MFT, CPT,Fit by Sara
is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an expert in yoga, aerobics, martial arts and holistic health practices. I was so impressed that Fit By Sara has focused in on the Moms and given us the tools we need to feel healthy and strong throughout pregnancy and beyond.
The Fit by Sara website is full to the brim with information and helpful video tips to get you moving. They have a blog, workshops and all kinds of resources for Moms on the go! What a great gift idea for the expectant mom, or new mom in your life. – Daria

Are you Holiday Ready?

One simple click for one really great cause

December 14th, 2006

ClockItsI used to have a really good habit that more than made up for my other not-so-good habits and it only a click or two of the mouse. You’d think a habit that simple would be one that would stick, but unfortunately it didn’t. But I’m back on the wagon and I think you ought to catch a ride as well.

The Hunger Site’s homepage has a bright, golden button in the center of the page that reads “Help Feed the Hungry. Click here daily, it’s free.” Your click on this simple button funds food for the hungry, which is paid for by site sponsors whose ads appear after you click. The food is provided to people in need around the world through the efforts of Mercy Corps and America’s Second Harvest. But that’s not all you can feel good about doing while visiting the Hunger Site.

FwingersThe Hunger Site also offers an online store chock full of fabulous fair trade items, jewelry, clothing, inspirational items, gift items for the home, and featured products from world artisans. I personally love the “Triple Wish Hoop” and “Everything is Possible” necklaces. You can totally find a gift for every one of your friends and support a good cause with every purchase. And once you’re done shopping, check out the extensive resources on their other sites: the Breast Cancer Site, Child Health Site, Literacy Site, Rainforest Site, and Animal Rescue Site.

Pick up a good habit this season and set a New Year’s resolution to visit The Hunger Site on a daily basis. But don’t wait until January 1, 2007–there’s no better time than now to get started. –Emily

Fashion Show – MoMo’s Clothes

December 13th, 2006

MoMo's ClothesThis week on Boutique Cafe we feature the fashions of Designer April from MoMo’s Clothes. If classic with a kick is your thing, you will positively fall in love with MoMo’s Clothes.

When asked about the inspiration for her clothing April replies : “I love to sew because I enjoy the creative process of making something pretty and sweet. Florals are my favorite types of fabrics to work with and I love any type of embroidery or handwork that I can incorporate into an outfit. I also love quilting techniques and I like to try to incoroporate them whenever I can as well. I was inspired to sew many years ago, after the birth of my oldest daughter. I love all things girly and to me there is nothing sweeter than a little girl all dressed up in lots and lots of ruffles”¦something that makes her feel pretty:).”

You can learn more about MoMo’s Clothes on Aprils About me page – be sure to sign up for her newsletter while you’re there. A blow dryer that cuts drying time in half? Bring it on!

December 13th, 2006

T3It’s been a long time since I’ve had to spend a half hour blow drying my hair just so I could go out in public. Wasting half my day dripping sweat under a blow dryer in the middle of summer was just too much, so I now wear my hair very short. But had I tried the new T3 Tourmaline II Ionic hair dryer, I may have survived the experience!

T3I caught the T3 on The Today Show and was immediately intrigued by its claim of drying hair up to 60% faster than your conventional dryer. The T3 is “infused with 100 percent [semi-precious] tourmaline jewels (the world’s most potent ionic mineral).” These jewels apparently deliver “maximum negative ions and infrared heat” which leads to “lightning fast drying and healthier, shinier, deeply moisturized hair.” The claims are impressive, but does the T3 live up to them? I checked out the reviews on Amazon.com and a few other sites and overall it seems the T3 is really worth the $200 price tag. Customers say it definitely cuts their drying time in half and leaves their hair softer and shinier.

If I still had long hair I would honestly consider investing in the T3, and that’s coming from a woman who hits Target for the cheapest ionic flat iron she can find! But I could never go back to setting the alarm clock 30 minutes early on blow-dryer days. If I ever grow my hair out (which I will just so I can cut it off again””it’s a vicious cycle), I would definitely add the new T3 Tourmaline II Ionic hair dryer to my beauty regimen. $200 is a small price to pay for a few more hits of the snooze button in the morning. –Emily
