Try 2 Red Hens—it’s a much better story
October 2nd, 2006
I love the story of The Little Red Hen. It’s a great example of Mom playing the martyr, something of which we are all guilty. But now I’ve got an even better, more inspiring story, the story of 2 Red Hens.
Lori Burley, Mama Hen, was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1992. “A long road lay ahead””one filled with potholes, covered in nails and littered in trash. I fought the disease for many months. What followed my battle with cancer were years of complications and health problems. Today I am happy to report I’m cancer-free and feeling great. “¦ Not only do I have my health, but 11 years after being told I’d never have children, I gave birth to the perfect baby boy. Miracles really do happen.” (I find that more inspiring than grinding wheat and making a loaf of bread.)
2 Red Hens is committed to spreading the word about how to prevent cervical cancer, and for each bag they company sells, they make a donation to cervical cancer research and education. That should be enough for you to make a purchase without even seeing their bags, and if you did, you wouldn’t be disappointed.
When I opened the FedEx box and saw the Whole Roost bag in Pink Tin Roof, I felt like Christmas had come early. And like a kid with a new toy, I immediately had to try it out. I transferred everything from my current diaper bag into my new 2 Red Hens bag with room to spare. It had so many pockets and so much space and so much style I actually tried it on and walked around the house. Yep, it was just like Christmas morning.
The Pink Tin Roof print is beautiful and the large red button used to close the bag is perfect. The Whole Roost bag even includes a high-quality changing pad that also fastens with a cute red button. The bag is easy to clean and easy to tote. And it comes with an extra “perk”””a card of key facts about HPV, a common virus that causes cervical cancer. Who knew your typical Pap test doesn’t detect this common virus?
There are a lot of diaper bags out there but very few combine a truly awesome design with a truly awesome story. 2 Red Hens gives you the opportunity to treat yourself and support a cause, so go ahead and get yourself an early Christmas present. “˜Tis the season!—Emily

I LOVE the 2 Red Hens. I stumbled across them during a late night surfing session some time ago and was astounded at their bags. They’re sooo cool! Their story is inspiring and they are such fun, savvy, and smart women.
Yay, 2 Red Hens!
