Fashion Show – Lil-Diva Duds
January 9th, 2006
Taking the eBay boutique world by storm are the designs by Kathy Dykstra of Lil-Diva Duds. Kathy says “I learned to sew as a child and loved it from the start. After the birth of my first 2 daughters I learned how to smock and began heirloom sewing. I was captivated by it. It wasn’t long before I was smocking and doing heirloom sewing for local shops and clients. I’ve been doing that for about 20 years now. I’m passionate about smocking and heirloom sewing – it’s really my first love in the sewing field..” It’s Kathy’s incredible attention to detail and her flair for timeless style that make her creations so sought after.

Hi, I’m Maxine from Arizona. I am new here but I loved the show (can’t wait to listen to them all). I just wanted to tell the designer Kathy how beautiful her designs are, I’ve added your listings to my bookmarks.
Thanks for this neat site, I’m excited to have found you.
Max.

Daria could you post this question for me?
Kathy I’m so impressed with your designs, I’m wondering if this is your full time job? if it isn’t it most definitely should be. I’m a big fan of smocking and traditional styles for children, I’m happy to see such clothing available for the younger generation. I like my grandchildren to look like the sweet children they are and not to look like teenagers or adults. I often shop for my grandchildren online but haven’t tried ebay before, it’s a whole new world this internet thing. I like this site. Thank you Daria for passing this message along to Kathy on your board.

Thanks Shirley! I just love smocking and have continued to do it way past the time my children outgrew it so that I wouldn’t forget how by the time I have grandchildren (which I hope will be in a few years!). I do this about as full time as I want it to be.

Beautiful! Sometimes Her Majesty wishes she had daughters just so she could sew (or buy) outfits like these.
